We're baaack!!

We are still here!  We have been snuggling, laughing, tickling and wrestling, exploring and learning and having fun together.  Here are some highlights since the new year:

Ben has a serious passion for Batman.  EVERYDAY he wears something with Batman on it, and if I make him wear something else, as soon as we get home he changes! In fact he has informed us that he is going to BE Batman when he grows up.  He is sure about the cape and mask, just not sure yet on how he is going to fly.  Gotta work out those bugs still.

Megan LOVES animals - stuffed or real.  She sleeps with 12 stuffed animals in her crib...and is usually found happily buried under them in the morning.  She is magnetically drawn to any animal anywhere we are.  We have many little critters like squirrels and birds and cats that visit our backyard and Megan often runs to the window exclaiming in delight when she sees them and wants to talk to them and invite them inside.  Yesterday she saw a cat walking on the fence and she ran to the window and said "KITTY!!  Kitty come my house!  Kitty wick (lick) my hand?  Kitty wuv me?  Kitty come my to house?"

He is constantly creating vehicles and characters with his Legos and can spend hours playing with them.  His imagination amazes us!

Megan has caught Ben's love for costumes and superheroes and loves to dress up and play with him.  When she put on this mask she came to me and said "Me, bad guy!"  Then she lifted up the mask and said with a grin "Me, Megan!!"

Cousin Kenzie loves a little dress up party too!

Megan loves to go into Daddy's office.  Now she will try to sit in his chair and say "Me working!"

Yeah, John is pretty proud. :)

Silly girl!

Laughing over some funny video

And there he is.....Batman!!  A friend found this costume for Ben and he was ELATED.  He put it on and said "It is really batty!"

Had a super fun visit from Gran and there was a lot of snuggling and playing going around here.

Ben has started doing jobs to earn toys that he really wants.  This toy was earned through many household jobs that Ben faithfully and responsibly completed and we were so proud of his blooming work ethic!

New gift from Gran and Pops.  It was designed to start as a bike that you sit on and scoot, but Megan mastered that in about 2 minutes and wanted the scooter version, and took off like a pro!  She is quite the go-getter!

Ben is doing so well with his big wheel this year, and is getting better and better with his bike.  We have actually been able to go on short walks with him on his bike!  I feel like I am graduating to the next level in Momville!
Look at these big kids!! (Yes, that is a pirate sword in Megan's basket.  Always gotta be prepared.)

Yeah, we do silly well, and often at our house.

Ben always has a story to tell, and talks up a storm at home.  He adds a unique component to all his stories and conversations, something we have dubbed "Ben Logic".  He will state something and then flip it around and say the opposite.  It has the potential to actually bend your mind if you listen to it long enough.  He also likes to make up his own words......

Megan's vocabulary and grammar has exploded!  She now talks in stilted sentences and is constantly trying out words she hears.  She also will say something that will shock us at how much she is understanding and retaining.  Here is a video of a bit of all kinds of things from our little chatterbox, including her praying, and her current favorite song....
