Worth Waiting For

The days and hours are a blur right now. . . .keeping track of pain meds, feeding times, wet and poopy diaper counts. . . .it is all running together and my mind is barely keeping up, but one thing I know:  I have been blessed with an incredible little boy.  After 26 hours of labor, an epidural, 3 hours of pushing, and an unexpected C-section, my little blond gift arrived on Tuesday morning at 6:02 am with cries that melted my heart.

He has been such a great little baby - it is amazing to me that he can know how to suck and swallow and breathe and do everything on schedule when he is so new and small.  I can't stop gazing at his sweet face, the way his mouth forms this little "o" when he has finished eating and just so content, the way his fingers curl around mine, the tiny folds of his ears and the pudge on his little cheeks.  We are all smitten and he has barely seen the crib for all the hands that want to hold him!

At some point, when my emotions aren't rolling high and low all at the same time, I will document the whole saga, but for now I will share with you the evidence of our last few days of joy with our precious Ben.

The following pictures were taken by Bella Baby Photography while we were at the hospital--we were amazed at how well they turned out and of course had to get them all!  If you want to see all of the pictures taken by them, you can go to: www.bellababyphotography.com and put in the password: 0727bennorworthy (yes, the "s" is missing from "norsworthy").
