Earlier this month we had the opportunity to whisk ourselves away to California and spend some time with family for my cousin's wedding. Beautiful weather, gorgeous beaches, tons of fun family time....I know, a rough job, but someone has to do it!
The travel days were fairly good--having Jenny, Wes and my mom there to help corral and run after the boys was great....and the boys had a blast screeching with delight as they ran everywhere looking at all the planes and people.
We stayed with my grandparents (ALL of us....bless my dear grandparents!)..."all" being Jenny, Wes, Mom, Dad, John, me and Ben. The guys didn't join us til the weekend for the wedding, but us girls and little boys sure had fun hanging out all week. Wes and Ben are pretty much like brothers, complete with the occasional row over a coveted toy, but mostly they just love being with each other. It sure makes is easier on us mommies that they have a playmate to run around with, wrestle with and make things more interesting!
The boys discovered wrestling, and are quite good at it for amateurs. They are actually fairly gentle as they tackle and roll over each other. The best is when they are stuck in a twisted pile and you can hear them both giggling. It just doesn't get much better! And sharing all this with my Grandma and Grandpa and watching them cherish every wiggly active moment with the boys was the best gift ever.

The airport was pretty exciting...boys sure do love big planes! |
The boys loved playing on Great-Grandpa's piano...especially WITH Great-Grandpa. I remember doing this when I was a little girl! |
Big family dinner round the table. So many fun memories of doing this through the years. The family has grown and the memories keep getting better and better. We have been blessed with the best family--they are so funny and fun to be with, it is comfortable and relaxing and we all share a love for the Lord--what an incredible gift. |

Wrestle time with all the adults egging on the kids :) |
Seriously cute....especially the little toes tucked up under his bum! |
"Whatcha doin' Ben? Can I help?" |
Our future engineer hard at work. He had so much fun fitting all the pieces together, and with such concentration and precision. |
Imagine the sound effect that went along with that face...."voooooosshh!" |
Ah, the beach! |
Wes LOVED the sand..... |
....Ben, not so much. As long as it stayed in his bucket and out of his toes he tolerated it. |
The three of us...Ben, Mommy and baby bump! |
Before the wave..... |
After the wave! A little cold! |
My cousin's wedding--a beautiful rustic, vintage, outdoor wedding |
Beautiful Bride! Lauren and Sean looked so happy! |
The four cousins: Jen, Lauren, me and Ashley |

Ben discovered how fun bubbles are on this trip--and learned how to blow them himself for the first time! |
There was a lot of spit flying with the first few bubbles :) |
